| This plot shows the fluorescence (FL) reading of each well over the baseline experiment period of 96 hours. The biological samples are engineered to fluoresce based on their metabolism. This allows a simple measure of fluorescence to provide information about how active the samples are. Of scientific interest is how this level of activity in a microgravity environment compares with the level of activity of similar specimens here on Earth. The GeneSat team will make this comparison by conducting a similar ground-based biological experiment using the GeneSat flight spare spacecraft. CK |
