| This plot shows the fluorescence (FL) reading of each well. The initial set of relatively high resolution data was during the baseline 96 hour experimental period of growth. The biological samples are engineered to fluoresce based on their metabolism. This allows a simple measure of fluorescence to provide information about how active the samples are. Of scientific interest is how this level of activity in a microgravity environment compares with the level of activity of similar specimens here on Earth. The GeneSat team will make this comparison by conducting a similar ground-based biological experiment using the GeneSat flight spare spacecraft. CK |
