| This plot shows the optical density (OD) of each well. The initial set of relatively high resolution data was during the baseline 96 hour experimental period of growth; as can be seen and as expected, the biology has continued to grow beyond this point. At the start of the experiment, the biological specimens start to grow, having been warmed up and fed a glucose solution. As they grow, they become optically dense, meaning that less light can pass through the well in which they grow. As a result, the optical density is a measure of growth. CK |
